Tuesday and Thursday afternoons

Friday morning

 

Applications can be found outside the Community Services office on the first floor of the Courthouse (across the hall from the Board of Supervisors office).  Completed applications can be dropped off in the Board of Supervisors office for Supervisor Stancil.

Duties and Responsibilities

General Assistance

 

Madison County General Assistance provides assistance to Madison County residents who meet county eligibility guidelines.

 

General Assistance follows the guidelines set forth in the county ordinance established by the Madison County Board of Supervisors.

 

Madison County General Assistance includes the following services: rental assistance, utility assistance, medical, dental, and prescription assistance, transportation (employment purposes only), and funeral assistance (cremation only).

Central Iowa Community Services

CICS supports individuals and strengthens communities by serving the unique needs of individuals with mental health, intellectual and other developmental disabilities in 15 Iowa counties:

 

Boone, Cerro Gordo, Greene, Franklin, Hamilton, Hancock, Hardin, Jasper, Madison, Marshall, Poweshiek, Story, Warren, Webster, and Wright.

 

CICS is focused on:

Providing the vital link between individuals and appropriate resources in the region/community to improve health, hope and successful outcomes.
